Air pollution linked to mental health

With Air Quality Index reeling between severe to a very poor category, people continue to suffer from adverse health problems. A recent study on air pollution has found a link between mental health and air pollution. Whenever the toxic particles enter the body due to air pollution, an inflammatory reaction takes place, which causes mood swings, irritation, depression, and aggressive behavior in people. When the weather is smoggy with limited sunshine, there is a high risk of anxiety disorders and panic attacks, especially among children and adults.
There are generally two forms of pollution, chronic and acute. In acute pollution, people suffer from cough, breathing issues, abnormal lung disorders, chest pain, chest tightness, and burning. While in the chronic form of pollution, people suffer from a persistent cough, shortness of breath and susceptibility to respiratory illness.
